I’m Rick Torres, a Music Producer, Mixer, and Engineer with a passion for music that has taken me on an incredible journey. From my early days in Costa Rica, where my love for music first began to manifest on the drums, to eventually working in the bustling music scenes of New York City and Los Angeles, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing and contributing to the music industry in countless ways.
After 20 years of honing my craft in NYC and LA, working on a wide array of projects as a composer, producer, and recording engineer, my wife Mandy and I decided to return to Costa Rica. Here, we enjoy our free time exploring the stunning landscapes with our dog, Pax. This return to my roots has been a source of inspiration and a reminder of the transformative power of music, and the incredible experiences it has afforded me.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the honor of working with notable artists such as G-Eazy, French Montana, Brody Brown, CD9, Rhett Lawrence, Emmanuel Briceño (Juanes), and Andy Vargas (Santana). I’ve also had my music featured on shows like American Pickers (History Channel) and Love Is Blind (Netflix).
The Sound Nomad is a space where I aim to share my knowledge, experiences, and insights gained from my diverse roles in the music industry. Here’s what you can look forward to:
Whether you’re an independent artist, a seasoned producer, or someone who simply loves music, I hope The Sound Nomad will be a source of inspiration and practical knowledge for you. Rick Torres
I’m a verified engineer on the EngineEars platform, a great way for music artists and audio engineers to work together. This is my preferred platform for mixing projects, as it provides a great set of features to facilitate the collaborative experience.
For other services (or if you prefer to work outside the EngineEars platform) feel free to contact me.
